How to check MOT Expiry and MOT History?

Simply go to our MOT check page and enter the vehicle registration number. You'll find the entire MOT history of the cvehicle as provided by the DVLA. The report will show MOT failures, advisories and warnings. Incredibly important to check the MOT history when buying a new car.


How can I get a stolen car check?

Enter your registration number from the homepage then click on Gold Check. The report will show you information on if a vehicle has been stolen, when it was stolen as well as contact information for the police if available.


What is a salvage check?

Enter your registration number from the homepage then click on Gold Check or a Full report. The report will show you information on if a vehicle has been sent to an auction with details of the damage. A vehicle may have multiple salvage history. Each salvage history will come with a link to a site which allows you to see photos of the vehicle to see damage, if any at the time of auction.

PLEASE NOTE, a car that has been a write off, CAT D, S etc that HAS NOT been sent to auction will NOT be salvaged. No photos are available if a vehicle has just a write off on the report.


How can I get an Outstanding Finance Vehicle Check?

Enter your registration number from the homepage then click on Full Check. It will you information on the contact number and the finance company which has financed the car if available.

How do I check my car accident history?

Enter your registration number from the homepage then click on Gold Check. The report will show you an alert with what type of damage the vehicle has recorded by the DVLA. Click on Write-Off report to view the loss date and the loss type. This information is recorded by the insurer.


Can I see pictures of my car with write off history?

No, you can only see photos of a damaged car IF it has been sent to a salavge auction. A car that has been a write off, CAT D, S etc that HAS NOT been sent to auction will NOT be salvaged. No photos are available if a vehicle has just a write off on the report.


What are the insurance write off categories?

They are as follows:

  • Category A: Car may not be repaired, and must be crushed.
  • Category B: Car may have its usable parts recycled, but it also must crushed.
  • Category S: Car has suffered structural damage, but it is still repairable.
  • Category N: Car has not sustained any damage to its structure, and which may be repaired and safely returned to the road.
  • Note, since 2017 Cat C and D have been replaced by Cat S and N respectively.
